Happy New Year 2010 Blog

1st January 10 . no comment

Wishing all of you a prosperous new year 2010 and may you be successful in all your undertakings.

The new year marks the revamping of the Borneo Highlands Resort website to make it more interactive with all of you with the inclusion of a blog feature that will post some insights of Borneo Highlands Resort and also to post some social issues at large mainly the environment issues since we at Borneo Highlands Resort believes in going “Back to Nature, Back to Basics”.

Plans are in motion in the new year to make Borneo Highlands Resort as eco-friendly as possible and to reduce carbon footprint in the world by contributing to the green efforts in order to reduce among others global warming that is getting even more prevalent as time passed.

Some of you might ask, what is global warming? To put it simply, the Earth is getting hotter and hotter. Another clearer explanation as quoted from library.thinkquest:

Global warming is when the earth heats up (the temperature rises). It happens when greenhouse gases (carbon dioxide, water vapor, nitrous oxide, and methane) trap heat and light from the sun in the earth’s atmosphere, which increases the temperature. This hurts many people, animals, and plants. Many cannot take the change, so they die.

There you have it. Global warming which affects the Earth which means it definitely will affect us all. Although there are ongoing debates on whether global warming is true or not, lets not dwell on the issue and do our part in protecting the environment as one cannot go wrong by going back to nature. Let’s live a healthier lifestyle.

Here’s a video from Youtube that explain global warming by National Geographics in case you are more to a visual person instead of textual person:

Again, Happy New Year 2010 and lets work together for a better year ahead.
